We stand for Tackling Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in Men.
Preventing Suicide in Men:
To make change happen, Movember views mental health through a male lens. The focus is on early intervention, engaging men and working to their strengths. By 2030 the aim is to reduce the male suicide rate by 25%.
What can we do? Talk, Ask, Listen, Encourage Action, Check In.
Get resources to help a friend, family member or co-worker who is struggling – Beyond Blue, Conversations Matter, Men’s Line Australia, Kids Helpline, Headspace, Heads Up Guys, Mind Health Connect.

Improving Quality of Life:
To help lighten the load for men undergoing prostate and testicular cancer treatment.
Statistics:
Prostate cancer rates will double over the next 15 years.
Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50 years.
Globally one man dies by suicide every minute of every day.
Males account for 60% of all suicides.
Movember Foundation is placed in a global position to assist through funding research all over the world, engage men in understanding what works best for them and to encourage change.
Helping Men Take Action:
Highlighting and educating men’s health risks and what they need to know, increasing awareness in men to spot men dying too young.
How? The top 5 Things to Know and Do:
- Spend time with people who make you feel good – stay connected with your mates, don’t worry about asking for help.
- Talk more – giving your time can be life saving
- Know the numbers – at age 50 talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and a PSA test. Age 45 if of African or Caribbean descent or brother, father with prostate cancer
- Know your Nuts – get to know what is normal for your testicles, exam them regularly and visit your doctor if something doesn’t feel right – don’t delay
- Move More – add more activity to your day, do what makes you feel good.
